The trial for a Burlington man accused of murdering a popular local D.J. and music producer on Christmas night 2024 has been postponed once again. Eric Rios, 48, is charged with first-degree murder for the shooting death of Anthony “D.J. Ant Bomb” Campbell. The Hawkeye reports that Rios’ trial was scheduled to begin on May 5 at the Des Moines County Courthouse, however on Monday, District Eight Judge Joshua Schier granted a motion from Assistant Attorney General Nicole Leonard to continue the trial. Rios’ next court date is unknown as of Tuesday, but court documents indicate a new trial date could be announced as soon as May 8.
