The Keokuk City Council approved bids for two major street improvement projects during its May 7 meeting at City Hall, moving forward with work on Bel Air Street, part of Park Lane, and South 10th Street.
The Daily Gate City reports the larger of the two projects will repave all of Bel Air Street and continue onto Park Lane through 17th Street, according to Public Works Director Brian Carroll.
The project on South 10th Street from Main Street to Timea Street targets an area frequently cited by residents as one of the city’s roughest roadways.
That project will involve milling and resurfacing the roadway.
