The Hamilton, Illinois Police Department has officially moved into a new facility on Broadway in Hamilton, marking a major upgrade from its previous headquarters.
The city purchased the former Hy-Vee building in 2023 and completed a full renovation to convert it into a modern police station. The project was funded partly through COVID relief funds, which covered about $120,000 of the purchase, with the city paying the remaining cost.
Chief Mike Boley said the new building significantly improves day-to-day operations, adding dedicated spaces that were not available in the old facility, including an interview room, evidence processing area, and expanded office space.
