Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird joined her counterparts yesterday at the Republican Attorneys General Association meeting in Washington, D-C to recognize National Police Week. Bird says she believes it’s important to work with law enforcement.

“We are very grateful for their service. And as a mom and a prosecutor, that means a lot to me. We want to keep people safe. We want to hold criminals accountable. And we want to be there for victims of crime,” she says.

Bird says Iowa has passed several laws recently to crack down on crime, including assault against law enforcement.
