The Central Lee Community School District is moving closer to a potential conference change, with Superintendent Andy Crozier expected to recommend joining the Southeast Conference beginning in 2028.

During a workshop Tuesday, the Pen City Current reports school board members reviewed the advantages and concerns surrounding a move from the Southeast Iowa Super Conference to a conference that includes schools such as Burlington, Fort Madison, Keokuk, Washington and Fairfield.

Crozier is expected to present a formal recommendation to the board during its June 16 meeting.
