Tonight is the night of the 2014 Iowa Caucuses.
Unfortunately this year, they haven’t grabbed national attention because it’s an “off-year” for the presidential election.
Iowa Candidate for US Senate, Scott Schaben, joined us in studio yesterday and said it’s still important to get out of the house tonight and let your voice be heard…
“It could decide who your next lieutenant governor candidate is for the state of Iowa. It could very well be the deciding night for who your United States Senate Candidate is. It could decide who your representative is for the first district for United States Congress. It could decide who your republican candidate is for the republicans in the Third District of the US House. It could also decide it for the democrat side for House District One.”
Schaben is a native of western Iowa. If he beats his GOP opponents, he’ll face Bruce Braley in the General Election.
Schaben told us in yesterday’s interview that he wants people to understand he’s not a “stereotypical” republican. He hopes to connect with people on all levels and work together to solve the economic problems our country faces. His top priority, if elected, is to work together to fix the national debt.
For Burlington, West Burlington, and Middletown Republicans, your caucus location is at the Burlington High School Library. Danville Republicans will meet at Bob Dodds Insurance Agency in Danville. Republicans in Mediapolis, Pleasant Grove, and all other Des Moines County townships will meet in the Mediapolis Elementary Library.
For Des Moines County Democrats, all precincts and townships will caucus at IBEW Hall, which is located at 1205 N. Central Ave. in Burlington. All meetings start at 7pm.
