Large Number of DMCo Absentee Ballots Requested; Many Still Out

Des Moines County’s Auditor told the Board of Supervisors this morning that about 1,100 absentee ballots haven’t been returned yet.

Carol Copeland says her office handed out, or mailed, just under 7,300 absentee ballots for today’s elections and those who haven’t used theirs yet may turn them in at their regular polling place and vote there, or they can fill them out and turn them in to her office on the second floor of the courthouse until 9 o’clock tonight.

If you have an absentee ballot and plan to mail it in, it’s already too late — it had to have been postmarked by November 3rd, and received by noon on the 10th, for it to be counted.
