Johnathon K. Cooper, 22, of West Burlington, died at 9:30 PM Saturday, September 3, 2016, of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born November 12, 1993, in Burlington, IA, he was the son of Jerry L. Cooper and Melissa A. Baughman Selby.
Johnathon was a roofer for Fenton Construction.
He graduated from Job Corp of Ottumwa.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being on the river, riding four wheelers, and playing with his two daughters.
Survivors include his mother, Melissa A. (Brad) Selby of West Burlington; father, Jerry L. (Erin Sapp) Cooper of Sperry; two daughters, Ryin Nicole Cooper of Mediapolis, Brooklinn Grace Cooper of West Burlington; two sisters, Courtney Cooper of Sperry, Payton Selby of West Burlington; grandparents, Vickie (Randy) Lucas of West Burlington, Temple (Chris) Selby of New London; one special friend, Mallory Dohh; and many aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his Grandma Mary Cooper, Grandma Charline & Grandpa Gerald Cooper, Grandpa Harold Baughman, Uncle Ed Cooper, and best friend Ty Warth.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mr. Cooper will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 9, 2016, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Kathleen Wohlers officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be at Peace Lutheran Church following the service at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to support his two daughters.
Cremation will be entrusted to Prugh~Thielen Crematory following the service.

Paul Duane Ervin Sr., 76, of Burlington, died at 6:30 AM, Tuesday September 6 at his home in Burlington surrounded by his family.
Born March 12, 1940, in Davenport, he was the son of John Delbert and Mabel Elizabeth Mohler Ervin. On August 25, 1962, he married Marjorie May Wiley in Bethany Lutheran Church.
Paul was a set-up and repairman for Champion Sparkplug for 30 years until his retirement in 2002.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War from January 29, 1959 until July 29, 1962.
Paul was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, car races, traveling in his RV and cooking at the Shriner’s Wild Game Dinners’. He also enjoyed running his sharpening business and most importantly, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years; one daughter, Tonya Cloke of Burlington; one son, Paul Duane (Debbie) Ervin, Jr. of Morning Sun; four grand-children and six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM where the family will receive friends at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Dean Graber officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice Home.
