Obituaries Wednesday April 22nd

The graveside service for Mrs. Ophelia Bryant, 82, of New London, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Burge Cemetery, rural New London.  Pastor Rod Cooper will officiate.  A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice, West Burlington.  Elliott Chapel, New London, is in charge of arrangements.

 

Mary Joyce Goodlove, 80, of Burlington, died at 6:05 PM Monday, April 20, 2015, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

 

Born May 12, 1934, in Davenport, she was the daughter of Leo Anthony Sr. and Ruby Mae Brewer Stuckel.  On October 23, 1965, she married Jack Goodlove in Galesburg, IL.

 

Mary was a homemaker.

 

She attended Davenport Central High School.

 

She enjoyed gardening, camping, family cookouts, garage sales, fishing, boating, swimming, and going to the casino.  She was an animal lover and fed half the birds of Des Moines County.  She loved her family and was the ultimate super mom.

 

Survivors include her husband, Jack; one son, Jeffery (Nancy) Burke of Druce Lake, IL; two daughters, Karen (Dean) Brobston and Patti (Brent) Krieger, both of Burlington; one step-son, John (Emma) Stader of Bettendorf, IA; five grandchildren, Lauren, Ryan, Kaden, Nick, and Jenna; two great grandchildren, Jack, and Kira; two sisters, Marvell Stuckel and Mardi Vogt, both of Davenport, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Stephanie Lynn Burke-Jones, one stepson, Micheal Stader, two brothers, Bob Coffin and Tony Stuckel, and one sister, Doris Rehder.

 

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Thielen Funeral Home.

 

The funeral service for Mrs. Goodlove will be 10:30 AM Friday, April 24, 2015, at Thielen Funeral Home with Father David Steinle officiating.  A time of food and fellowship will be held at ??.

 

Burial will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 28, 2015, in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

A memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.

Delight A. Kuisle, 48, Morning Sun died Friday 4/17 at the Great River Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, John, her father, James Lebert of South Carolina, mother, Diana Crick of Georgia, 2 daughters, Amanda Snodgrass of Winfield and Jennifer Kuisle of Coralville, 3 sisters, Colleen Ferguson of Georgia, Faith Schrock of Lockridge, IA and Denise Cosgrove of Mount Pleasant and 3 grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1030 AM Saturday 4/25 at Lunning Chapel with burial in the Aspen Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday 4/24 from  6-8 PM in Lunnings.
