Ottumwa Officials Don’t Like You-Know-What Through a Goose

OTTUMWA, Iowa (AP) — Officials in Ottumwa plan to reduce the number of Canada geese in city parks.

The Ottumwa Courier reports city officials asked the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to remove some of the geese after getting complaints about bird droppings. A roundup of geese will take place later this week at Ottumwa Park. Goslings will be taken to a wildlife area and adult geese will be taken to a location in southwest Iowa City Administrator Joe Helfenberger says it’s possible some of the adult male geese could fly back to Ottumwa.
