Man Killed in Burlington Shooting

Police are expected to issue a full statement on the Monday shooting death of a 24-year old man near South Hill Park in Burlington this morning.

The Hawk Eye reports that police and medics found the man lying in the street with at least two gunshot wounds to his torso. He was taken to Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, where he died around 3:30 p.m.

Burlington Police Lt. Jeff Klein says officers have identified the dead man, but his name hasn’t been released. A full press release from the Burlington Police is expected before noon.

Klein says no arrests have been made. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has been called to help the investigation.
