An 7th grade student from West Burlington is asking the school board to consider a partnership with Burlington High School so that WBHS students will be able to join the swim team at BHS.
Will Godar, a swimmer with the Burlington Bullsharks, has been swimming competitively for three years and just qualified as a State Swimmer for the second year in a row. Being proactive, Godar is concerned that he would have to give up competitive swimming when he hits high school as WBHS does not have a swim team.
School Board member Michelle Randall says that the board will open up discussion with Burlington High School. The board will discuss the issue further during their March board meeting.
