Obituaries for Monday September 17th

Wesley Harold Cross, 91, of Burlington, died at 10:55 am Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Burlington Care Center.

Born July 25, 1927, in Iron Mountain, WI, he was the son of William and LaVena Moyers Cross.

Wesley was the owner of Cross Construction. He built many, many homes in Burlington. When he retired from carpentry, he opened Country Junque Store, and later sold antiques all over the nation.

He was of the Christian Faith. He founded and was the president of Burlington Coin Club and Burlington Singles Club. He enjoyed fishing, stamp collecting, coin collecting but most of all, Wesley loved reading and antiques. He collected books and was an avid reader; he loved to learn. Wesley loved reading his bible and studying scripture. He enjoyed going to auctions, restoring antiques and hauling them all over the country. He loved sharing stories about going to Europe with his children.

Survivors include his daughters, Peggy A. (Earl) Stott of Burlington, Dorothy (Hosea) Winters of Burlington, son, Dennis (Theresa) Cross of Bowen, IL, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, one brother, William (Dorothy) Cross of Florida and one sister-in-law, Leona Cross of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Rodney; two sisters, Eveline Johnson and Waneta Cline; four brothers, Charles Cross, Chester Cross, Walter Cross and Lloyd Cross; and one great-grandchild, Makynna Stott.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.

There will be no visitation or services.
