Des Moines, Ia- The Iowa Department of Public Health has been notified of 482 new positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of positive cases in Iowa to 3,641.
In a news conference, Tuesday Gov. Reynolds explained that 33% of these new tests were found during surveillance testing of meatpacking facilities in the state.
1,313 negative tests were also reported bringing that total to 23,974. 1,293 Iowans so far have recovered from the virus, for a total recovery rate of 35%
Also, 4 additional deaths were reported, bringing the death toll in the state to 83. All 4 of these deaths were linked to outbreaks at long term care facilities.
