Southeast Iowa man injured in Missouri crash

Wayland, Mo.-  A Fort Madison man was seriously injured in a crash Thursday, November 3rd, in Clark County Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, just before 12:30 PM Thursday, three vehicles were traveling eastbound on Highway 136, about two miles west of Wayland.

The vehicles involved included, A large truck driven by 68-year-old Steven Parker of Luray Missouri, an SUV driven by 78-year-old Dorothea Hunziker of Kahoka Missouri, and a pickup truck driven by 26-year-old Ian Eid of Fort Madison, Iowa.

According to a crash report, Hunziker’s vehicle slowed to make a left turn,  and Eid who was driving behind her also slowed down. At that time, the truck driven by Parker struck the rear of Eid’s vehicle, which then struck Hunziker’s.

A passenger in Eid’s vehicle, 42-year-old Jeremy Smrt of Fort Madison, was severely injured and transported to an area hospital.
