Driver uninjured after rollover accident that downed utility pole

Burlington, IA-  A Burlington man was uninjured following a rollover crash Monday that downed a utility pole.

The Hawk Eye reports that the accident occurred at 7:17 AM Monday, April 3rd, near Agency Street and Garfield Avenue.

The man was driving eastbound in the 1400 block of Agency Street when the vehicle left the roadway onto the grass on the south side.  The car then struck a utility pole and flipped over, coming to rest on its roof.

EMS responded to the scene, but the driver was uninjured.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, told police he had fallen asleep while driving.

The driver was cited for failure to maintain control.
