Federal Disaster Declaration approved for seven Iowa counties

Des Moines, IA-  Governor Reynolds announced on Friday, August 25th, that President Biden had granted her request for a Presidential Disaster Proclamation for seven Iowa counties that were severely impacted by spring flooding.

According to a news release, FEMA Public Assistance Program funding is available to eligible public entities and nonprofit organizations in the designated counties that were impacted by flooding from April 24th to May 13th.

The counties included in the declaration include Allamakee, Clayton, Des Moines, Dubuque, Jackson, Lee, and Scott Counties.

The governor also said that the Presidential Disaster Declaration includes funding to conduct hazard mitigation activities for the entire state.
