Muscatine Police Department announce additional charges in Welch apartments burglary

Muscatine, IA-  The Muscatine Police Department has released an update regarding the Welch Apartments burglaries.

According to Muscatine police, 52-year-old Miguel Angel Salcedo was arrested on January 10th for 3rd Degree Burglary, as well as an unserved arrest warrant at the Welch apartments in Muscatine.

Investigators have worked with the displaced residents of the apartment complex in an effort to identify and return property as well as further criminal prosecution efforts.

As of Tuesday, January 23rd, Salcedo was charged with an additional 12 counts of 3rd-degree burglary, one count of trespassing, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

In all, law enforcement has identified 13 victims in the incident.

The Welch apartments have been vacant for the past several months due to structural safety concerns with the building.
