Burlington man sentenced to 60 months in federal prison for Possessing Child Pornography

Davenport, IA- A Burlington man was sentenced Tuesday, January 23rd, to 60 months in federal prison for possession of child pornography.

According to public court documents and evidence presented at sentencing, 53-year-old Donald Dale Ping was found to be in possession of child sex material.

Law enforcement received a cyber tip that Ping had uploaded child sex material to a social media platform.  Due to the cyber tip, a search warrant was executed on Ping’s social media account and cell phone.

The warrant uncovered child sexual assault material, including images of prepubescent children.

Following his prison term, Ping will be required to serve five years of supervised release.

United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa made the announcement. This case was investigated by the McHenry, Illinois Police Department.
