Driver hospitalized following single vehicle accident in Geode State Park

Mount Pleasant, IA-  The Henry County Sheriff’s Office says that one person was hospitalized following a single-vehicle accident in in Geode State Park.

According to a news release, at about 11:34 AM on Sunday, February 11th, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motor vehicle accident in Geode State Park.

Upon investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Donald Lee Fields of Brighton was traveling northbound on Racine Avenue near Beach Road and lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle went across the center line towards oncoming traffic, into the ditch, and struck a tree before coming to rest.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Fields was examined by Henry County EMS personnel and transported to the hospital where he was later released.

Fields was charged with driving while license revoked and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
