Burlington, IA- The Burlington Police Department has announced that the human remains that were located in Burlington on March 7th have been identified.
According to a news release, the remains were identified as 54-year-old Troy Daugherty of Burlington. Daugherty had been reported as a missing person to the Burlington Police Department in July of 2020.
Results of the autopsy and toxicology are still pending and may take weeks to finalize.
The cause and manner of death are still being investigated by the Burlington Police Department, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations, and the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner.
