Burlington Police Department: possible gun threat at Aldo Leopold not credible

Burlington, IA-  The Burlington Police Department says that a possible gun threat at Aldo Leopold Intermediate School was not credible.

According to a news release just after 7 AM Friday, March 22nd, the school resource officer at Aldo Leopold was notified of a possible threat that could happen at the school.

A student contacted an Aldo Leopold Staff member and said they were bringing a gun to school.

Burlington Police and Aldo Leopold staff worked together to make sure all students and staff arrived at school safely and then began to investigate the credibility of the threat.

After interviewing several individuals with knowledge of the threat, it was determined the threat was not credible and there was never any danger to students or staff.
